During this past week trucks were diverted to TX to assist in the relief efforts resulting in a massive disruption with truck space and availability throughout the country. Fuel prices remain high due to demand and closures of many Houston-area refineries.
We are keeping an eye on Hurricane Irma as she is set to hit South Florida this weekend and will have a significant impact on the entire Southeast Region including Georgia, Alabama and the Carolinas. You may already be aware that Norfolk Southern has issued embargoes for these locations in an effort to alleviate congestion in the affected region.
Our thoughts are with those who are recovering from Hurricane Harvey and those who will be affected by Hurricane Irma this weekend.
